What Is Life? A Simple Reflection Beyond Science

Have you ever wondered what life is, not in a scientific way? If you want to know, let me explain the scientific way first. Life is a fascinating phenomenon that sets living things apart from the inanimate world. It includes growth, reproduction, maintaining a stable internal environment, responding to stimuli, and evolving over time. However, some entities, such as viruses, blur the line between living and non-living.

But we’re not here to talk about viruses or non-living things. We’re here to define life as we feel it.

Life Is Precious Because of People

For me, life is very precious. To understand this, you have to ask those who have lost their lives. I’m referring to the people in your life. You might have met people whom you call your life, and there are people who have left you or whom you have lost who made your life what it is. It’s disheartening to feel their absence, so it’s important to respect life and the people who are there for you, even when they know your bad side.

Some people stay with you because of your goodness, but those who stay even knowing your worst are worth calling life.

Life Changes as We Grow

As life grows and you grow with it, your preferences for what you call life change. For example, if you love a girl, a guy, or your parents, you will make them your life. That makes your life precious. You will worry about them, care for them, and want to take care of them.

People Who Stay

Lessons of Time

That’s not something that has a complete scientific explanation because some things, even if you truly believe in science, are beyond that, and you feel that every day of your life.

Some people stay with you because of your goodness, but those who stay even knowing your worst are worth calling life.

The Lessons Life Teaches Quietly

Sometimes life also teaches you lessons in ways you don’t expect. You may think you understand people, but time shows you that not everyone stays the same. Some people who once felt very close become strangers, and some strangers become the most important part of your life. This is something no book can fully explain. You only understand it when you experience it yourself.

The Difficult Moments That Shape Us

Life keeps changing, and with every change, you learn something new about yourself and about others. There are moments when life feels very heavy, and you start questioning everything. You wonder why things happen the way they do, why some people suffer more than others, and why some situations are out of your control. At that time, you may not find answers, but those moments make you stronger in ways you don’t notice immediately.

Later in life, when you look back, you realize those difficult times also shaped who you are.

Understanding Parents and Growing Up

As you grow up, you will also realize that you will feel the same for your kids as your parents feel for you, the worry, the strictness, and the comfort. There might be many kids complaining about their parents’ parenting, but once you have children, you will feel how tough it is to raise a child, teach them about the world, and prepare them for it.

Playing with babies and kids for a day or an hour might feel good and might not seem tough, but when they get hurt or get sick, you will feel their suffering. That’s why parents are fussy, and that makes them different from other people, and that’s life too.

Learning Patience and Acceptance

Life also teaches patience. Not everything happens when you want it to happen. Sometimes you have to wait, sometimes you have to accept things you don’t like, and sometimes you have to move forward without knowing what will happen next.

This uncertainty is also part of life. You cannot control everything, and maybe that is what makes life real.

The Invisible Battles Everyone Faces

Another thing about life is that everyone is fighting something you cannot see. Some people look happy but are struggling inside. Some people look strong but feel tired. When you understand this, you become more careful with how you treat others.

A small kindness, a small word, or even just being there for someone can make a big difference.

That is why human connections are so important in life.

A Life Without a Final Conclusion

There is no conclusion to life. It will always go on, whether you are there or not. What matters is how you lived your life and who remembers you. If you have made a positive impact on one person’s life, then you should be happy, grateful, and proud because you are living a very beautiful life.

Life is a mixture of sunshine and rain, teardrops and laughter, pleasure and pain. Just remember, there was never a cloud that the sun couldn’t shine through.

This is such an insight towards the true gravity of life. I loved it. Scribed beautifully touching the rather different kind of subject which is often overlooked.

First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to January Chapters for letting me have this opportunity of going through some excellent pieces of writing. Last night I read Ms. Shanthi Priya’s article and I really enjoyed it a lot.
Today, I am lucky to have gone through Sanif bula’s write-up and to say that I have enjoyed it, may not really convey my true feelings or how I feel about this article.
We often take things for granted. I have often wondered about Life, concluded that Life is an enigma beyond my understanding, written a lot about it and finally gave up on trying to waste time thinking about Life. That is why this article by Sanif bula comes into the picture as far as I am concerned.
In simple and easy-to-understand words, he tries to bring home the meaning of Life to us and he does such a marvellous job of it.
I have nothing but appreciation and admiration about “What Is Life?” and will definitely read it again as soon as I can manage the time.
Till then, here is wishing the author and JC all the very best for the days ahead.
